Conde Nast
Traveler, May 2000
"The hotel Nash is that rarest of south beach breeds. A hotel that's got
style - and service - in spades. Located a block behind the Infamous
Versace mansion in the heart of the Art Deco district (indeed, many of the
hotels rooms look out onto the mansion's observatory), the Nash is an
object lesson in '30s Deco style, restored to the tune of $11 Million. Its
55 rooms are done in soothing sage and ivory, the seductive scents of
aromatherapy pervade every room and public space, and three tres intime
pools (freshwater, saltwater, and mineral water) occupy a courtyard
garden. The food at Mark's, star South Florida
chef Mark Militello's in-house restaurant, highlights local ingredients
(Florida squid with chermoula and harissa, spiny lobster in
a curry broth) to superb effect. Shy away from the standard city-view
rooms, which overlook a bleak roofscape, in favor of garden views- the
higher the floor the better." |
